St Barbara is an Australian based, ASX listed gold producer and explorer.  St Barbara's assets include the Leonora Operations in Western Australia and the Simberi mine in Papua New Guinea.  It has Mineral Resources of over 13 million ounces of contained gold including Ore Reserves of over 5 million ounces of contained gold, as well as an extensive landholding comprising granted tenements and tenement applications in Australia and the western Pacific.

Leonora Operations – Western Australia

The Leonora Operations include the Gwalia Underground mine and Gwalia processing plant, as well as nearby development opportunities.  St Barbara's Gwalia gold mine was commissioned in October 2008 and is the cornerstone asset for St Barbara with an indicative mine life exceeding nine years with high grade mineralisation below the current reserves.  King of the Hills commenced production in June 2011 with an expected mine life of 4 years and is expected to produce 55,000 to 60,000 ounces per annum, and ended production in April 2015.

Simberi – Papua New Guinea

The Simberi gold mine is on Simberi Island in Papua New Guinea and started production in February 2008. In 2013, the plant was expanded to 3.5 million tonnes per year with installation of a SAG mill with the objective to lift gold output towards a run rate of 100,000 ounces per annum. The Simberi mine is a significant contributor to PNG's economy and its community, with significant further exploration potential around the mine.

St Barbara's mine sites are located remotely, with employment offered to these sites  on a fly in/fly out basis at both Leonora and Simberi, with short flights from Perth (for Leonora) or from Cairns or Brisbane (for PNG). An option to live locally in Leonora or Kalgoorlie can also be considered for employees at Leonora.
